Working lace producing machines are the core of De Kantfabriek Museum. The museum tells the story of the region's textile industry, supplemented with tantalising temporary exhibitions related to the topic of textiles.

De Kantfabriek Museum is the ideal venue if you are looking for an all-in arrangement or a day out with your family, friends, colleagues or fellow members of a club or association!

De Kantfabriek Museum works together with a number of local partners to provide full-day arrangements in the municipality of Horst aan de Maas. These partners are De Paddestoelerij mushroom centre in Grubbenvorst, Museum de Locht in Melderslo and the bakery Bakker Gerards in Horst.

Simply choose a programme to suit you and De Kantfabriek Museum will organise an enjoyable trip including a varied programme of activities, resulting in a charming day to remember for your group. All you have to arrange is the transport for the whole day.

Activities

Upon arrival at Paddestoelerij in Grubbenvorst at around 10.30 h, you will be drawn into the world of mushrooms. After lunch at Paddestoelerij, you move on to De Kantfabriek Museum in Horst where you receive a guided tour of the museum. Needless to say you will also have time to explore the museum on your own afterwards. The day programme concludes at around 16.00 h.

De Kantfabriek Museum in Horst was the last remaining working lace factory in north-west Europe until 2006. When you step inside the museum, it feels like you've been whisked back in time to the 1930s. You receive a guided tour of the museum. You then visit Museum de Locht in Melderslo for a taste of rural life in the middle of the last century. You can also visit the mushroom and asparagus museum at De Locht.

Arrival at De Kantfabriek Museum at around 10.30 h. You will hear all about the history of the museum, followed by a guided tour through the museum (approx. 1 hour). Needless to say, you have time to explore the museum on your own afterwards. You then walk to the Bakker Gerards bakery for a flan-making workshop. You can take the flan home with you at the end of the day.
