Museum De Locht
Museum de Locht, with its exhibitions and displays of authentic crafts, tools and implements, provides a good idea of rural life in North-Limburg from 1850 to 1950.
But the museum also covers modern times: mushooms and asparagus in a modern production facility, high-tech greenhouses and all kinds of current ‘food applications’. There is an asparagus pavilion which houses the National Asparagus Museum and a mushroom pavilion housing the National Mushroom Museum. The Locht site also includes a labourer's cottage, a brewery, a clog maker, a forge and a chapel, resulting in an all-round museum with something for everyone.
On Sundays there are often demonstrations and special activities for children and adults alike, including demos of old crafts such as breadmaking, weaving, clothmaking, forging or making syrup. Children can also amuse themselves playing with a variety of vintage and modern toys.
